There are two new photo tricks here; one is symmetrical balance and asymmetrical balance. For those aren’t familiar with this allow me to explain. When it comes to symmetrical balance everything is the same. What I mean is that if you were to fold the picture in half everything would be the same for both sides. That’s balances out the whole picture and one side won’t look more crowded than the other. That’s what my group did in the first picture. Now asymmetrical balance is a little different but it still has the same basics. When you take pictures everything isn’t always balanced like in a symmetrical picture. This is where asymmetrical balance helps, instead of having the same on both sides you have different objects but they balance out the other half of the picture. In the second picture my group is on the left side but no one on right side. That’s where the trees come into play, they fill up the right side and that way the whole picture is balanced out. I think it’s important to have visual balance because if you’re not careful it can mess up your picture. One side will look busy and one side will look empty and no one wants that.
